We are delighted to be opening our first independent bookshop in Downham Market Norfolk.

This is a town that we both know well and love, having gone to school here and spending our teenage years here before both going further afield and discovering the world.

We are now delighted that our journey in life has led us to our next exciting chapter back here in the wonderful town of Downham Market with family and friends around us.

We were delighted to welcome some of the young people from the Swan Youth Project to come and choose their books from the amount donated by our customers at Christmas time. The young people were excited to choose whatever books they wanted to take back and add to their Centre library. A great selection of fiction and non fiction books are going to be enjoyed by all! We had a lovely visit from @adberginwriter and the gorgeous Max the dog this morning to sign copies of his new novel ‘ The Wicked of the Earth’ a cracking historical novel based on the witch hunts in Northumberland in 1649-50. In stock now!

During December, our lovely customers kindly bought £145 of 'books' to donate to The Swan Youth Project, who work with young people to give them the support they need to navigate life. Shopping locally is so important to support the independent shops in Downham Market. We were so pleased to welcome Terry who wishes to promote Downham Market shops. We will be getting back together with him soon and will invite all local business to come along to a meeting to have their voices heard. If you want to buy a gift for a loved one of any age, we can help you select a book for them that they will love. You will be able to buy Book Tokens too at Words and Wonder Books so you can give someone the joy of choosing their own new books.

We will also be selling a small range of mostly locally sources crafts, cards and wrapping paper that we hope you will find hard to resist!
